CRC Group, a leading independent wholesale specialty insurance distributor, today announced the launch of its CRC Insurisk Assault & Battery (A&B) Liability product, designed to deliver lender-compliant protection as the general liability market continues to restrict or exclude assault and battery coverage.
The CRC Insurisk A&B Liability product provides dedicated, occurrence-based coverage backed by A+ rated paper, offering insureds meaningful protection while meeting lender requirements. As more general liability policies impose exclusions or sublimits related to assault and battery exposure, this solution delivers standalone capacity separate from general liability, helping insureds maintain continuity of coverage and compliance.
“Assault and battery exposure has become increasingly difficult to place as carriers continue to pull back in the general liability market,” said Alex Bonds, CRC Insurisk President. “This program was specifically developed to respond to that challenge by offering broad, occurrence-based coverage with competitive pricing and terms that align with lender expectations without compromising on protection.”
The program offers primary limits with no weapons exclusions, no sublimits, and no state or city exclusions. Lender-compliant deductibles are included, and the program is designed to support a wide range of occupancies. Coverage includes dedicated assault and battery capacity and a specific SML product structured to provide back-to-back coverage. A People Trafficking extension is also available for qualifying hotels.
Chris Kirby, Program President, shared, “We’re excited to bring this highly in-demand coverage to market. This new A&B product represents the first of several initiatives planned for 2026 and demonstrates how we are responding to evolving market conditions by delivering tailored solutions for our brokers while expanding distribution opportunities for our underwriting partners.”
Target classes include habitational risks, such as apartments, homeowners associations, condominium owners associations, senior and assisted living facilities; real estate portfolios and investors; hospitality exposures such as hotels, leisure facilities, and restaurants; and retail and commercial properties.
The launch of the CRC Insurisk Assault & Battery Liability Program underscores CRC’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, market-responsive solutions that help clients navigate increasingly complex risk environments.
