Michele Bates joined the CRC team in November 2019 as an Associate Team leader with the Tampa, Florida office where she's responsible for collaborating with the team to successfully grow and renew business.
Michele earned a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University before beginning her insurance career as an Underwriting Assistant with Hull & Company in 2004. After 2 years, she transitioned to the role of Senior Underwriter with Burns & Wilcox, where she handled the evaluation, classification, and rating of commercial lines accounts (property, GL, E&O, Excess, D&O, EPLI, etc.) for independent agents and brokers across the Southeast, successfully placing larger open brokerage business. She also assisted in the development and implementation of a new underwriting training program and served as a trusted resource for mentoring new underwriters. Known for her underwriting integrity and ability to grow and manage profitable business, Michele was recognized with several proprietary service awards across her tenure with Burns & Wilcox. Every new account brings its own set of challenging risks and Michele truly enjoys evaluating each one. Going forward, Michele plans to work toward obtaining a Property and Casualty license.
Michele is proud of building a thriving career while raising two wonderful children, Emily and Wesley, with her husband Shannon. They live in the Atlanta area where they enjoy hiking with their beloved dog Harvey, and spending time together.
