Jason Howard is a Senior Vice President and Casualty Broker with CRC Group’s San Francisco, California office where he leads a high-performing production team and specializes in Construction, Environmental, Life Sciences, and Excess insurance coverages.

Jason earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of the Pacific followed by a Juris Doctor from the California Western School of Law in 1995. Before joining Stewart Smith Insurance Services as a Vice President and E&S Broker in 2001, he invested more than 5 years practicing law in San Diego where he focused on Real Estate, Construction, and Product Defect defense litigation, gaining valuable insight into the various exposures and business challenges facing clients across a variety of industries.

After 5 years with Stewart Smith Insurance, Jason transitioned to AmWINS, taking on the role of Senior Vice President before joining CRC in 2009. As an expert in Contractor and Manufacturer General Liability, Pollution, and Excess insurance coverage, Jason calls on his law background to help agents and clients understand claims, explore coverage options, and evaluate contract terms. Known as a highly responsive partner capable of driving results and getting the job done, Jason truly enjoys working with the best in the business to bind new deals with key clients all across the country.

Jason is proud of building a thriving career and maintaining strong industry connections and friendships that make going to work both fun and meaningful. But, he’s most proud of being married to his best friend, Abby, for more than 30 years and raising 3 kind and capable daughters with the love and support of a wide circle of great friends and family.

Jason and Abby make their home in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. Outside the office, you’ll often find Jason embracing island life by spending a day on the golf course, searching the horizon for the perfect wave to surf, or gathering around the table to enjoy a simple meal with good friends. 

As an E&S Broker since 2001, Jason has developed specialties in construction, environmental, life sciences, and excess limits.
