Keith Allred joined TAPCO Underwriters in 1991 and serves as Vice President. He is responsible for overseeing all underwriting operations for all TAPCO offices as well as the various business operations. Contributing to his strong insurance background, prior to joining TAPCO, he worked at a retail agency where he solicited and wrote commercial and personal lines insurance. He also worked as an underwriter at the home office of an insurance company and has been responsible for underwriting truckers’ insurance with Seaboard Underwriters.
Keith received the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1996 and the Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) designation in 1998. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1988 from Appalachian State University, where he majored in Risk Management and Insurance, as well as Business Management. He also received a Certificate of General Insurance in 1988. He currently holds a North Carolina Property and Casualty license as well as a North Carolina Surplus Lines license. He also holds numerous non-resident licenses in other states. He is also a past instructor for the North Carolina Property and Casualty pre-licensing course, as well as the CPCU and ASLI courses. As an associate member of Gamma Iota Sigma Insurance Fraternity, he is active in professional organizations, including WSIA as well as numerous states Professional Insurance Agents Associations and Independent Insurance Agents Associations.
