After a $14M property loss, CRC Group’s Claims Advocacy team successfully negotiated a settlement of a dispute over the business interruption portion of a claim, allowing the parties to move forward and close the claim. In doing so, the team helped the parties avoid litigation and repair their fraying relationship.

When an insurance carrier denied coverage and defense to a condo association just two weeks before a status hearing in a slip-and-fall case, the retail agent turned to CRC Group’s Claims Advocacy Team for help. Despite the time constraints, CRC was able to review the claim, advocate for coverage, and convince the carrier to rescind its denial—all in time for the Insured to receive a defense at the hearing.

CRC strives to put the client first by analyzing coverage issues to provide valuable insights that can help facilitate claim resolutions. Recently, CRC Group’s Claims Advocacy Team assisted a privately held financial services company in reversing a coverage denial and obtaining a full defense against a baseless class-action lawsuit related to a Ponzi scheme.

The COVID-19 pandemic temporarily slowed or halted the claims process in many situations as courtrooms closed their doors to comply with social distancing requirements. However, CRC continued to assist partners across the country and came to the aid of a medical imaging center that found itself named as a defendant in a 2020 EPL lawsuit.

The CRC Claims Advocacy Team recently came to the rescue of a retail agency partner. They stepped in to help with a contentious builder’s risk claim that involved delay and damage to an office building project that occurred over a 7-8 month period due to rain, flooding, and a hurricane. The source of the water damage impacted both the coverage analysis and the number of deductibles that should apply. In this instance, the insured believed there was only one claim and one deductible, while the carrier sought to apply three.
