Abe Kane is a Public Entity Broker with the CRC Public Sector & Education (PS&E) Team where he specializes in placing unique or complex public entity risks from around the country.
Abe earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan before joining Gen Re in 2002. The first 10+ years of Abe’s career included various underwriting roles within the Gen Re Group where he developed deep expertise in Public Sector business. Abe then spent several years as a Facultative Reinsurance Broker with Aon, before joining CRC in 2020.
Across 20 years in the industry, Abe has remained committed to expanding his expertise, earning Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI), Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities (ARM-P), and Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designations. Known for persistence, creativity, competitiveness, and the ability to appreciate different perspectives, Abe has the multi-line product knowledge and experience needed to handle the evolving needs of today’s public clients, and he truly enjoys working as part of a team that pushes each other to be better every day.
Abe, his wife Meredith, and their family make their home in New Canaan Connecticut. While Abe is proud of building a thriving career, being a dad to Henry, Andrew, Libby, and Charlie, is his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Outside the office, you’ll often find Abe cheering the kids on at their sporting events, enjoying a day at the golf course, coaching youth football, skiing, or playing platform tennis.
