Anthony Vergnetti

Anthony is the President of the FEDS Program providing professional liability insurance for federal employees, specialty products for state and local groups, and Defense Base Act and other coverages for federal contractors. His understanding and knowledge of, as well as his relationships within the federal community, provided him with the unique insight to build a solid, successful risk management program for federal employees and contractors. 

Prior to founding the insurance program in 2007, Anthony was a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Shaw, Bransford, Veilleux & Roth P.C. where he specialized in federal personnel and employment law and also provided legal representation to small federal agencies on personnel law matters. As an attorney with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Office of Chief Counsel, he represented the Bureau in personnel and other employment/labor law matters before administrative tribunals, the Federal district, and appellate courts. He also served as an Appellate Attorney for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and had a federal clerkship for the Honorable Hart. T. Mankin, U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

He frequently host FEDtalk, a weekly radio show on Federal News Network/WTOP, bringing insider perspective from leaders in the federal community. He has authored numerous articles and publications including an INSPECTOR GENERAL AND OFFICE OF SPECIAL COUNSEL INVESTIGATIONS HANDBOOK, regularly provides presentations at government executive and employee training programs on federal personnel law matters, and works closely with the leading federal employee associations.

Anthony has a B.A. degree from Arizona State University and law degrees from Widener University School of Law and the Georgetown University Law Center, and is a member of the Bar in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He also served on active duty in the United States Air Force from 1985-1989.
