ABOUT JAKE

With nearly a decade of experience in the high-net-worth insurance space, Jake Scherr serves as a Senior Private Client Underwriter at CRC Group, specializing in excess & surplus personal lines. Jake partners with independent retail agents nationwide to craft tailored coverage solutions for affluent and complex risks — from luxury homes and secondary residences to fine art, jewelry, and umbrella programs.

Before joining CRC, Jake spent years building relationships with high-net-worth-focused agencies, developing a reputation for his deep market knowledge, responsiveness, and creative underwriting approach. At CRC, he leverages the strength of Lloyd’s syndicates and specialized carriers to help agents win and retain top-tier clients, focusing on both service and sophistication.

A Wyoming native now based in Florida, Jake brings a grounded work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset to everything he does — from underwriting luxury risk to growing his own real estate venture. He’s passionate about mentorship, relationship-building, and helping agents elevate their private client capabilities in today’s evolving E&S market.

When he’s not in the office or on the road meeting with retail partners, Jake can be found exploring the Florida coast!
