Rusty Hughes is a Senior Vice President with CRC Group’s Birmingham Professional Team (BHM PRO).
Rusty has dedicated over 25 years to Team CRC and nearly three decades to the insurance industry. Passionate about working with a network of top-tier insurance professionals, Rusty believes that the strength of CRC lies in its people. His daily role involves not only providing specialist service to clients but also mentoring younger brokers and contributing to the launch of two healthcare programs housed in Birmingham. Rusty has been consistently recognized for his expertise, twice receiving the Broker of the Year award for the O'Connor/Hughes team and being named a 2020 Top Specialist Broker by Insurance Business America.
Rusty is known for his approachable and humorous nature, often reminding colleagues to keep things in perspective along the journey. His greatest passion is mentoring, helping others find their niche in the industry. Outside of work, Rusty is active in his community, serving on the Homewood Athletic Foundation and Homewood Firefighter Foundation boards. He is also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the BAA club. Married for over 25 years, Rusty and his wife Deana, are proud parents to Mary Ryan and Nicholas. An avid runner, Rusty has completed many races and has set his sights on conquering a 50+ mile ultramarathon.
