ABOUT KAREN

Karen specializes in Management and Professional Liability Insurance and provides support to a team of brokers across a variety of industries. Currently an Account Executive for the BDA Professional Team, Karen enjoys working with agents and their insureds to meet their insurance needs. She also provides vital administrative and operational support to her broker team, ensuring they can focus on sales and production efforts.

Before joining Swett & Crawford in January 2017, Karen spent two years as a Law Librarian for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to her short stint in the Cook County Jail system, she spent several years as an Executive Assistant in the banking, architect/engineer and medical industries.
Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies from Kaplan University in Davenport, Iowa. She returned to school to pursue this degree at the age of 50. She considers this her proudest and greatest accomplishment next to raising two boys as a single parent.

Moving from the big city of Chicago, IL to the small town of Kewanee, IL was a big change for Karen but has proven to be a great decision since it has allowed her to form a strong bond with her step-daughter and step-grandchildren. She has enjoyed participating in positively influencing young minds once again.
