Ian Kampfer is a Senior Vice President at CRC Group. He’s responsible for focusing on property and inland marine business. Ian is responsible for establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with retail brokers across the country as well as putting together insurance programs for difficult to place, complex risks on their behalf.

Ian was introduced to the wholesale property business when he was hired as a summer intern at American E&S during the summer of 2004. After a successful summer and introduction to the industry, he accepted a full time job offer to continue with American E&S upon graduating from Syracuse University in 2005. In 2007, he was hired to join Cooper Gay Risk Services (CGRS) as a Producer. Although company names have changed several times through acquisitions (CGRS acquired Swett & Crawford in 2010 and CRC Group purchased Swett in 2016), Ian has been a stable force across his 11+ year tenure, able to rise to the challenges presented by an ever-changing market. Building a strong reputation in the wholesale arena with both retail agents and his markets has enabled Ian to build a solid and diverse book of business. He is a highly dependable resource and problem solver, always able to provide a solution. Ian is extremely passionate about his role within the insurance industry and can’t imagine doing anything else. He genuinely loves what he does and is tireless in his effort to stay one step ahead of the competition.

Ian, his wife Rachel, and young children Jordan and Lexi live in Westchester, NY. He enjoys golf, travel, cooking, and sports (Syracuse, Mets, and Giants fan). Ian strives to give back to his local community by co-chairing the Dad’s Club at Jordan’s preschool and participating with charitable organizations that make our neighborhoods better places to live, work, and play.
